I read in another post that Arnaud's advantage over Tiller was his understanding of the offense. Outside the TT and Neb game I never really thought we opened the offense up that much. Against Colorado it seemed like we took another step back. My fear is if? Tiller has less of an understanding of the offense and we limit the types of plays we run are we in trouble..My thought is open it, do things we havent done all year like last years mizz game and knowing CPR im kinda of expecting that.

We will Run, Run and Run the ball. Tiller will be a non factor in losing this game. However, knowing rhoads, he might have some surprises for us. Watch for that.

Tiller has been in the system the same exact amount of time as Austen. Like you said we tend to play very conservatively even with a 5th year SR under center, I dont see that changing much but in JT's limited playing time he has shown a stronge tendancy to take shots deep that AA, maybe thats due to simplified playcalling or just an inexperienced QB making quick decisions. Either way I think we'll have to open things up against Mizzou to keep them off guard.

Tiller can run the zone/read well, he is so much quicker then Arnaud in this particular play, which I think will be big for us against Mizzu. He also showed me against CU that he understand one important thing in our offense, to get the ball to Franklin, which he did well!! I think we will be alright with Tiller on Saturday.

This is the last game of the season, it is a home game, our opponent is a rival that is ranked in the top 25, etc..... DO I NEED TO SAY ANYMORE?

We have everything to gain and absolutely nothing to lose. Nobody expects the Cyclones to win this game and if I had to guess that is exactly how CPR would want it in this scenario of a win and you are in a bowl game. They may have tightened up the playbook with Tiller in the past but now it is time to unleash the whole damn thing and see what the kid can do. I imagine we will run the ball quite a bit but I won't be shocked to see the staff throw caution to the wind and set Tiller free to let it fly. Time to throw everything we have at Mizzou because you know what.... the tape they have on Tiller would be completely different from what they would get on Saturday night. Mizzou's gameplan on D is definitely not going to be set up thinking Tiller is going to throw the ball a ton. Hopefully the staff gives Tiller the chance to punch Gary Pinkel and the Tigers right in the mouth.

I assume it'll be run, run, run, quick toss to Franklin, run, run, run, quick toss to Franklin...

Rinse, repeat. This assumes we can get some first downs though.

I'd have no problem with this, maybe sprinkle in a deep ball every now and then to Jake a la Lincoln last year. Id expect Mizzou pile a lot of guys in the box so we should have some 1 on 1's on the outside, lets take advantage of it!

its going to be a very bland gameplan i fear. we're going to try and grind it on them, and who knows if it will work. nebraska did tear them apart on the ground, but our running attack isnt at that level. we just need to be OKAY in the pass game and we'll have a chance i think.

Nebby didn't do it by grinding yards out though. Helu had over 200yds on 3 carries. MIzzou was very aggressive stopping the run and stacked the box, Helu was able to break that containment. On his 3 long runs he didn't have a finger laid on him. I'd expect them to play us simliar since we run a lot of the same type of run plays as Nebby when Martinez is healthy. If JT can keep them honest like Martinez was able to do I'd bet Arob will break off a nice run or two.

Okay here is some info from the mizzou boards...

They're concerned about our zone read and the ability of Tiller to turn it up earlier then arnaud and potentially gash them for big gainers just as Klein did last week. The deal for us is that Mizzou lost two of their defensive starters in Lambert (MLB) and Hamilton (DT) and since then their defensive scoring has gone up by over 10 pts a game.

The play i'm looking for is going to be a 4 wr 1 te set no rb and tiller in the gun. Its a designed run for tiller up the middle after the LBs have made their drops. Get Tiller in space against a LB and i like our chances.

Lastly, if the weather conditions hold form, then there could be issues for Mizzou to be passin all over the place and sustaining drives.

A source very close to the coaching staff told me in great confidence that ISU will run no less than 30 plays this Saturday consisting of Bo Williams in the wildcat formation.

Mizzou is about to get Dolphin'd like the Patriots did.

I'm comfortable with Tiller under center and think he'll do a good job. The key to the game I see is starting strong and getting some early points on the board.

Getting an early lead is probably a more important recipe than any of the particulars of the offensive game plan (although it would also mean having Particulars that work ... unless the defense gets a couple of pick-6's right out of the gate).

I agree with a combo of other posts. I think you make Plan A to run the ball a lot, and hope it succeeds well enough early that Missouri starts to assume we're going to play it safe the entire way — then pull out a gadget or two, and maybe some long heaves by Tiller. If that gets the defense second-guessing, go back to grinding it out.

If Missouri jumps to a 14-0 lead in the 1Q, I think it's over.

Agreed. If we have to rely on our passing game to bring us back and Missouri knows we're going to pass, we'll be in serious trouble. Hopefully the running game finds the soft spot in the middle of the Missouri defense.

IMO, a better option would be to pull a WR and but in a RB to give Tiller a lead blocker. If they can knock off a LBer at the second level, the all bets are off. Just my opinion.
