Sorry if this is old news, but I just saw Taylormade Golf's tweet about welcoming Tiger to the family.

As a (hack) golfer who plays mostly Taylormade clubs and Adidas apparel, this makes me happy!!

Interesting. Did he get completely dropped from Nike then? If so, that's huge.

This just took me back to the first driver I ever bought:

I think the definition of a hack golfer at this point is someone that still thinks Tiger is relevant to the sport in anything but name. I still remember when him breaking Nicklaus's record was a forgone conclusion. Everyone was really off the target there.....

Nevermind...thanks iowa_wildcat for reminding me of this.

I completely forgot that Nike isn't making clubs anymore. He signed with TaylorMade for woods and irons.

Doh - Two people beat me to it.

I'll leave this quote here below for you.

tiger not relevant? guarantee if he's in contention on a sunday it'll be golf's best tv ratings in 2+ yrs.

his comeback will be a huge story and huge for golf, no matter your personal feelings on the guy.

I think the Nike drivers cost him several more wins and possibly a major or 2. Didn't Rory start spraying the ball all over the place after switching to a Nike driver as well?

Going to Taylor Made can only help his game.

He and Rory are still wearing Nike clothes, that' s where the profit margins are for Nike. Plus they are getting paid a lot to wear it.

Note that he is using the M2 driver and 3 wood, but he is having them make a custom set of irons (rumors were they were basically his Mizuno irons with TM stamps).

Kind of surprised that both chose to sign with a club manufacturer, versus take the Spieth route. He signed with Under Armor for clothes - but can use whatever clubs he wants.
