hell no....ive come close to getting 1 before and wouldnt throw it back for anything. i still hate the lady in the row behind that ripped my hair back to prevent me from getting it...i should have decked that *****

If I go to Target or Wrigley I take a baseball in with me and if I ever catch one, I'll make the switch and throw back the one I brought in.

Never, just another stupid tradition from the "loveable loser Cubbies"...jk but as a Cards fan I had to take a shot at the Cubbies. Honestly I probably wouldn't do it but if someone wants to that their choice. It would a nice gesture if the home team that have this tradition would give the person who threw the ball back something, as kind of a reward for following the tradition.

Unless it was some kind of milestone home run, I'd throw it back. It's just a baseball.

Please tell me you aren't serious?

I really don't get the mystique of getting an MLB ball (unless it is BB's 756th). I caught one at Angels Stadium and yeah it was pretty cool at the time....but what do you do with it after that? I gave it to my dog to play with. What do people do with them once they get home?? Seems just like another baseball to me.

That's why you bring another baseball with you and then throw that one back on the field.

I remember back when Harry was still announcing and they slow moed a fan making the switch. Pretty smooth transition.

Losers do dumb things to try and feel better.

+1. if I'm lucky enough to catch a home run ball hell no I'm not throwing it back. I'm still ticked over a foul ball I missed out on as a kid at an I-Cubs game. Funny note relating to this thread. My Rockies were playing the Yankees and Sunday's game was on TBS. A Rockie hit a home runs and a girl in a NYY jersey caught it and was jumping up and down like she won the lottery. I thought it was hilarious.

At a Cubs game - yes.

Any other game - keep it.

Exactly. Heck, in the 80s, we would even throw back home runs during batting practice at Wrigley Field.

I think I remember someone throwing one back from Waveland Avenue!

I'd like to be the one at a Cubs game to throw the Cub's ball back. Not that I hate the Cubs, I just think it would be funny.
