1. With out a doubt the friendliest fans of any venue I have visited.

2. They are for real. Talent gap between ISU and OSU is like the Grand Canyon. OSU has speed to burn.

3. Offense had it moments. I would have like to have seen how far Jones could have run with the first series pass had he caught it and would that have given the team some needed mo

4. OSU could have gone up top every play had they wanted to. Lack of defense puts the offense in a different mindset than if the game was competitive. (i.e. short and 4th in the red zone.

5. They hate OU as much as I hate Iowa.

6. It is a long drive.

We had lots of chances to make it a game in the first half. Jones' drop plus our inability to capitalize on turnovers (and commit turnovers ourselves) really put a damper on our day. I would have liked to see if we could have kept springing Arob free in the ground game, we were having some success with that early on.

Also, it was nice to see Scales run well when he had his chances.

OSU is my 2nd fav B12 team. Good folks that are perceived to play 2nd fiddle to OU in that state. Similar situation to us.

Regarding Houston's "drop". I think AA overthrew the pass. I'd call it a poor pass before calling it a drop. He barely got his fingertips on the ball.

My favorite Big 12 teams:

1. Iowa State
2. Tech
3. Okie State

bottom three:

10. Oklahoma
11. Kansas
12. Nebraska

We also had a good experience down at the game, other than the score. We were stopped, thanked for coming, and welcomed by many people.

The stadium is first rate, but we were surprised at how few fans there were in the seats. If we were in the top ten, I do not care how bad the team is coming in, for a conference game we would be packed.

After the baseball team was cut the Ok State fans were awesome. When they heard that the Athletic Department was going to make us BUY any of our jerseys and equiptment at the end of the year, their Baseball Boosters offered to pick up the tab for the whole team. Of course BVD wouldn't allow it but they did get together with some other schools, I know Tech was one to buy us some nice plaques.

I would love to hear your reasoning for having Tech as your second favorite team. They'd be near the bottom for me.

I agree, the fans were certainly first class. The tailgating atmosphere was very good, one of the better I've been to. Everything is really spread out but there were plenty of grounds for the tailgating. We went to Eskimo Joe's and had some of their famous cheese fries. It was really neat in there, the OSU band came in and played their fight songs.

The crowd was pretty disappointing. I figured it was because Iowa State was in town. From all that I spoke with at the game they said it was pretty much the norm. It never got loud and I never got chills. They said it only gets really nuts when Oklahoma is in town.

There were a ton of empty seats, too. After halftime I bet there were only 35,000 in there.

Another thing, it's impossible to get a buzz in Oklahoma! There beer has only half the alcohol content. You can drink and drink and...nothing!

So the OSU fans have some good beer-bellies on them? Or do they turn to the hard stuff?

That one is not so much their fans but because their football team is so fun to watch.

I was there and clogged the arteries with their cheese fries. Although they tasted just like any other cheese fry I've ever had...they hit the spot! I bought an orange and black Eskimo Joe's shirt for myself and a pink and white one for my wife.

The atmosphere was great. A place like this is one thing missing from an Iowa State tailgate. It's literally a five minute walk from Joe's to the stadium.

I really hope that comes from a rooting for the underdog mentality... we ran into a handful of decent Tech fans out in Lubbock but for the most part their fans were the worst I've seen in the conference so far

EDIT - Guess you already answered... my point still stands  Atleast it wasn't the fans

I have never been there but I think their football stadium an basketball arena look the coolest on tv in the big 12. Other than ours of course.

I remember when OSU came to Cap Timm to play, their fans would look around and ask "where to buy tickets." When told that it's free here, several would still want to "donate" some $$ to cover costs. One year an Cowboy fan asked me, "how can you support a program with fans getting in free?"
I guess we found out...

Thing I hate about OSU is their camera angles for fball and bball are jacked up and too high. I can't tell who has the ball half the time!

Dumb question of the day....what is Cap Timm?
