Thoughts on Jim Croce's Operator

Where is BMFClone? He wants this in a top 5 format. Thank you.

can we just agree this belongs top 10 songs of all time?

perfect lyrics and the 2 guitars just cash money

Maybe you should list your top 10 songs so we can compare? I think it is pretty hard to make a top 10 songs of all time because there are so many different genres. An example of probably of few of my favorite songs are Cash's Hurt, IZ's Over the Rainbow, and Hendrix's Over the Watchtower.

I agree it is a great song but I don't know if I would put it in my top 10.

Tunes like "Operator" make me melancholy. Old enough to have been there and it zaps you right back to being a kid.

Too bad Jim got in the plane that night. One dang tree within 500 yards on the airfield and the pilot hits it.

I actually like "I Got a Name" even more. I didn't realize he was so young when he died- looked older than his years I guess. He had quite a career already for a 30 year-old.

That is a good one. Walking Back to Georgia, Rapid Roy, Rollerderby Queen, he made some good music.

His wife operates a restaurant/bar under his name in San Diego, good times.

On my play list! My favorite Croce song too.

I will see all of the above and raise you "Time in a Bottle".

As you get older it just hits harder.

Jim Croce was the first singer-songwriter that I really liked.I bought his albums and listened to them endlessly. It would be impossible to choose one song over the others. I don’t expect others to agree, but he was the best of all time to me.

Funny that nobody has mentioned his most commercially successful song....
