After watching the game, do you think Iowa has one of the best DLs in the Big Ten? I do think Iowa is very deep at the DL, which helps. I don't even think Klug played, looked like he was concussed on the opening kickoff.

Thoughts?

They were solid, but I really wasn 't that impressed. I don't think they dominated that is for sure.

I was not impressed watching them. They only very rarely put pressure on the QB. On the other hand we only had 73 rushing yards in 27 carries so even if they're not flashy, they must be doing something right. If nothing else, they're better than Kent State and South Dakota State.

Whew. One of the best in the B10? Man I don't know. They aren't dominating, yet are very effective as is evidenced by the numbers. Just not sure what to take from this game, as I am sure you aren't sure what to make of your offense outside of Greene.

I think that like always, they will match up well in the Big 11. They have big DEs to stop the run and the DTs (King especially) are disruptive in the running game. That doesn't always match up well with the spread offense. I was unimpressed with the pass rush, but against more pro-style QBs, maybe they will look better.

I felt they pressured Arnaud/Bates a reasonable amount before wearing down after spending the entire 3rd quarter on the field. A LOT of hits on the QB, but not a lot of sacks. Dedrick did a good jbo on Clayborn.

If that's the best DL in the Big 10, they sure didn't apply much pressure on the quarterback.

They were good, but far from great.

I thought they looked pretty good. I thought Robinson looked pretty good today, but his numbers would seem to indicate that Iowa held him in check. If we didn't have A-Rob today, I don't think we average 2 yards per carry.

I don't think you can argue that they didn't stop the running game -- both from the QB and RB perspective. Robinson only averaged 3 yards a carry and there weren't any long scrambles.

I can however give the hawks a congrats... and then say DO NOT get to cocky cause both teams looked like they have a lot of work to do.

Thanks for the comments... and for the hospitality (for the most part) this week!

No problem. I saw two pretty evenly matched teams go at it today. I think that ISU made more plays while, based on the scoreboard, UofI made more plays that mattered (ie scoring).

I think ARob is the only back on our team that looks like he can go either direction around the tackler. Looks like he is a solid number one. 27 rushes for 73 yards for the team in rushing.
