I hope he didn't go to a contender...most notably the Rangers or Red Sox. I don't think the Angels would want him because where would they put him?
Why would someone trade for him a half hour before the deadline if they aren't a contender?
Only guesses I have are Texas or Tampa. Maybe New York, but I doubt they want Damon playing center in the playoffs.
I could see San Fran if he made it that far through waivers... They need offense BAD, even at the expense of Thome's defense and the trade for Garko was just plain stupid...
Thome absolutely owns at Tropicana Field. He has a .341 AVG there and a .667 SLG. I would put big bucks that he is going to Tampa.
I could see Cleveland trying to take him home. While crazy, they've done dumber things lately.
I don't see any way the Yankees signed him. They have nowhere to put him. Infield is pretty much set and they have 3 guys to use as utilities. Outfield is going to get crowded when/if Gardner comes off the DL.
Dodgers DO need a LOT of help. They've been not so good since the All Star Break, but are they expecting him to lay every game at 1st? Um....about that....
