I was hoping that he would go to a contender. Would like to see him get a WS ring. There are officially 0 interesting story lines left for the 2011 Twins.
Funny thing is, they are giving away Jim Thome wind up walking toys at Target field tomorrow.

For as many home runs he hit against the Twins with the Indians and White Sox, I'm glad I got a chance to see Thome play for the Twins and got a chance to learn how much of a class act he is on and off the field.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if that's what this is about. The Twins aren't contending. Thome has his 600 homeruns, and he's not hitting dingers at anywhere near his old pace. I'd bet money that he retires after this season.

As a Twins fan, I'm happy to see Thome get a chance to go back to Cleveland and perhaps finish his career with the team where it started. Just glad he joined the 600 club in a Twins uniform.

Incidentally, apparently, his first major league start was almost exactly 20 years ago, when the Cleveland Indians took on... the Minnesota Twins.

I'd hoped he would be able to pass of Sosa before hes done but I too think this year is it and he likely won't make it.
