We need a thread about things to do in Memphis. Let's talk about our favorite restaurants, bars, and other destinations.

I will start with a super high recommendation for the National Civil Rights Museum. It is on the actual location of the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King Jr. was killed.

There is so much to see in the museum, including the Rosa Parks bus.

Also, we have arranged for the Ames History Museum travelling exhibit called "Jack Trice: Tower of Strength" to be on temporary exhibit next week in the NCRM.

Central BBQ ftw

Absolutely. Other BBQ places get featured in the magazines, but Central BBQ is the real deal.

And located fairly close to the National Civil Rights Museum too!

The Tulsa - Liberty Bowl had a great parade.
The Memphis - Liberty Bowl was the largest pep rally I've ever been to.

Gibson's Donuts.
We had Gibson's Donuts at our tailgate last time. Highly recommend.

We had BBQ at the Germantown Commissary thinking the wait time might be less away from downtown, but it was still a significant wait. We ended up getting it to go and eating at the hotel. Food was outstanding though.

I always love to watch a few episodes of A&E's "The First 48" before I go to Memphis, then tour those areas. :p. All jokes aside, we felt safe the times we have been there.
