The Turning Point in the Season

I believe that the Kansas State game could be the turning point for this season. Kansas St. is a bubble top 25 team with a star player and some good talent. While we need to win the games that we are supposed to win, you have to steal some on the road that are tough contests.

We got blown out by Kansas but are still 2-2 in the conference, a win against K-State could give us some confidence going into a tough portion of the schedule that will be used as a measuring stick as to where this program is at.

A loss isnt the end of the world, but a win like that could do a lot for this team.

I think even if it is Nebraska, road wins are going to be tough.

That said, I like our chances against K State a lot better than the KU game last night.

Beasley is a beast. Bill Walker is pretty good. I think Hoskins is hurt. IMO, Hoskins is the guy that has hurt the Clones the most in previous seasons. Granted, we have never played against Beasley.

Who do you put on Beasley? Clark? If so, is Clark big enough to guard him?

I am not sure how you guard him. Neither Brakins nor Rashon can guard him straight up. I guess that I would put Clark on him but mix it up so that he has to see some different looks and we arent doubling from the same guy.

More than anything, we have to be consistent for 40 minutes. A couple of dry spells and Kansas State could put the game away fast with their athleticism.

Here's the problem. Historically we have played as bad at KSU as we do at CU. Regardless of how good ISU is and how bad KSU is, we go there and stink it up just like at CU.

Personally, I expect a VERY frustrating game. One that feels like we could have/should have won, but at the end of the day, I see KSU with the W.

KSU is playing really well right now. A win would be huge, a loss expected.

I hate to look ahead, especially when we are two and two, but ater K State we have Colorado at home and then a road game at Nebraska. WHile Nebraska is tough, it has to be looked at as a winnable game for us. Then two home games and we can play with both AM and UT at home.

We'll be double digit dogs at KSU, and I expect to lose by that much.

Hopefully KSU looks past us to their next game against Kansas.
If that happens, I think we have a decent chance at getting a win.
But, if they are focused on us, i think they will win by about 10.

Like I said, I think we have a decent chance. In fact, I think we beat them in Hilton, but we ALWAYS play like we are wearing lead shoes at KSU.

Something about KSU and CU. We can NEVER play well at their places.

Anyone else watch KSU-CU last night? KSU's entire team is pretty much Beasley with a little of his buddy Walker thrown in. If we can get Beasley in a little foul trouble in the 1st half or at least limit him to around 20 points, we should have a good shot. If I were still a student I would be licking my chops waiting for Beasley to come to town. He's such an egotistical whiner...he was flexing to the Colorado crowd last night.

Did you watch them against A&M last Saturday - this plan was exactly what happened... Beasley picked up two in 3.5 minutes, and went to the bench... KSU ended up winning the game by 20 pts. Beasley is not their entire team. He's the main cog, and Walker plays the Pippen role to Beasley's Jordan really well (metaphor fellas, not actual talent comparison). They have young guards like we do which has hurt them early this year, but they have great pieces and the team is playing really well.

Didn't get to see them against A&M, guess they played at a different level. I guess when you're playing against Roby U/Colorado you probably let your guard down a little. You're still not going to convince me that they're a well-disciplined team. If any team would look ahead to a game it would be KSU.

I see an Iowa State team that is young and improving every game. I think that we can get a win on the road against a superior, but I think only slightly, opponent.

As Mac said, he thinks that we are close to putting it together, lets make a run.

Don't want anyone to get me wrong, I'm not expecting a win but I'll be surprised if we get beat by more than 10. I just think we're going to be a lot more hungry for this game than KSU. Hopefully they don't match up with our intensity until it's too late.

The Fatty Kats own us down there. We haven't won a game there since 2001 (when we were kind of better than we are now). I drink the kool-aid as much as the next Clone, but we will have to play out of our minds to pull this one off.

I hope to win why not start out with a Triangle 2
Put Rashon on Hoskins
Put Corey Johnson or AT on Beasley

Even a Box and 1 with Rashon on Beasley
and hope hoskins is cold

If you take away there studs the rest are average these defenses will surprise the crap out of em' maybe

Hoskins is not playing. He's out for the season.

Hoskins is probably done altogther, which is really too bad because it sounds like he is a good guy.

Cory Johnson on Beasley? I love CJ, but that could give Beasley his first 50 point night.
