Being an avid vikings fan, their whole quarterback situation makes me sick. First off, in the preseason many experts said that jackson had been working hard and had improved a lot. The kid showed some potential last year but clearly needed some improvement. After his injury in the preseason he wasn't quite back to 100 percent and looked like he was a little lost after missing some time. After two starts good ole childress gives him the axe and turns it over to gus frerrotte. Now, frerrote at times has shown signs of decentcy, but his inconsistency is even worse than jackson's and he has cost us a game (vs. bears) and almost cost us another one (yest. vs. packers). i feel and think some others do, that jackson wasn't given a clear shot early in the year and serves the team better than old man gus.

sorry, this has been bugging me for a few weeks and wanted to get other fan's opinions on it.

Worst thread ever, Gus is 5-2. They are finding a way to win. Jackson is terrible. He needs to be cut. I'm pretty sure that is Omar Epps on the sideline anyway.

The back up is always better, even when he was once a starter and everyone called for his head.

As a Vikings fan I want to let you know you are wrong, Gus is working, it might be Grossman like of 2006 when he did just enough to not lose, but we do have AD to rely on

I must admit that Frerotte does not exactly thrill me, especially yesterday when he single-handedly kept the Packers in the game. However, how can you argue with what he has done, they are 5-2 with him as the starter. Good enough for me to keep him in there.

You probably came pretty close to getting your wish yesterday as Gus wasnt impressing anyone. He's still on average their best chance to win. Unfortunately, that means we either get to try again with Tjax next year or never know why he was the number one guy anyway. Oh well, go vikes!

Gus needs to start he is really bad and has lost a few games for us but we would of been alot worse. I think before we go out and spend more money on a QB next year we should throw in Booty but that will only happen if the playoffs are a long shot

I'm not on the anti-Childress bandwagon quite yet, but I'm sick of this bs qb play. If we had Sage or Seneca (let alone a top 15 qb), this team would have a couple more wins. Ferrotte has shown the ability to win games, but he throws way too many dumb picks. He singlehandedly lost the game at Soldier, and he tried to lose the game yesterday (thankfully Mason Crosby handled that). The Vikes would be one of the best teams in the NFC (if not the best) with an average quarterback. However, we're stuck with 2 that are far below average.

That is most certainly NOT a good idea. That decision would quickly be followed by a "official put Gus Frerotte back in thread".

Neither QB can stretch the field consistently, but Gus can check down a helluva lot better than TJack. Do you think the throw he made to Chester Taylor would have been completed (the one CT turned into a TD), I don't think so. The reason why fans were so upset was because TJack couldn't make the simple check down pass out of the backfield or the short dump to the sideline. That is why Gus is better. Would the Vikings have even been in the game yesterday or against the Bears had TJack been in the game??? No. Look at the Packers game from Week 1 and look at it yesterday. The passing game isn't anything special, but its soooooo much better than the first two weeks.

Whether us Vikings fans like it or not, Gus is the starting QB. I will not complain about the wins but the quarterback play is horrible. Ziggy really needs to go out and invest in a good QB for the years to come.

(On a side note: What the hell is wrong with the kick coverage team??)

I don't trust either but I trust Jackson a little less. It's sad when the defense is dominating out there and we don't have a QB that can simply manage the game. Unfortunately, Gus is the best answer right now.

Atleast your getting wins with Gus, with TJ you couldn't. Yeah he showed a little sign of improvement but he can harly complete a screen pass. Yes, Gus didn't have the best yesterday but he did get a W. If you want your wish to come true, be prepared for the Vikings to lose a lot of games.

There have been 10 punt returns for TD in the NFL this year and the Vikes have yielded 4 of them. 40%, I'd say that's pretty good:confused:
