Anybody else get a chance to see The Fighter?
I caught it over the holidays. I was really impressed. What a good movie. The fight scenes were more realistic than any I've seen.
Christian Bale should get an Oscar.
 
The mom and the sisters made the movie.
Agree with the Christian Bale Oscar thing.
 
I figured I could talk my dad into seeing True Grit or The Fighter while I was home last week. He opted for True Grit, so I'm probably waiting for Netflix on this. Can't say I regret that choice though, Jeff Bridges was all kinds of awesome.

I thought the little girl outshined everyone and Matt Damon was pretty good as well.
The Dude is always awesome.

I heard it was pretty accurate as well. I read the sisters and brothers hung around set a lot, too. That would be awkward.
Also, I was impressed with the cop who played himself. He did damn good.

Do you know if the HBO Documentary really happened? I Had no idea that cop was playing himself.

True Grit - I thought the girl was kind of annoying, but I guess I couldn't imagine any other way that role was going to be played. I thought for a western this was a pretty good movie.

The Fighter - I thought this was an amazing movie and probably the best of the year. I think if Bale doesn't win an award it will be a major upset and a great travesty in oscar terms. I also see this movie making a run at several of the awards like director, picture, and screenplay. At the very least it will be nominated for all the big ones.

I thought that The Fighter was a better movie than True Grit. I agree with the company that Christian Bales should win an Oscar. He has played an entirely different character than I am used to seeing him play, and the part with him jumping out of the window was just hilarious.
