I'm beginning to think how to use an apostrophe is no longer taught in school or a lot of people missed school that day.

A few examples:

"The Yoda's wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"

And cards addressed to "The Vader's" (The Vader's home? the Vader's kids, the Vader's dog, the Vader's light saber? Or is it addressed to The Vader Is?)

Sign outside a business: "Light saber's for sale" (Do they have 1 light saber for sale? Or does the light saber possess something else for sale?)

Keeping up with the Jones's (with the Jones's what??) - sorry, couldn't think of a Star Wars related example for that one

:D:p

I think there has always been a large number of people who didn't know when to use an apostrophe. The difference is the mistakes are published now. You don't need to know how they work to say them, only to print them.

This is my biggest pet peeve. Several people gave us gifts with an apostrophe in our name for our wedding years ago. Had to throw them all out. I will not be complicit in your awful grammar usage.

I have to admit I am terrible at typing the apostrophe in. I know it goes there, I am just too lazy to type it most of the time.

Now lets talk about the difference between Loser and Looser, and the fact that so many Losers cant seem to figure that out. I get when people put the wrong there, their or they're in, sometimes your brain just types one, not realizing it, but loser and looser are 2 completely different and different sounding words.
