While his season didn't end how he would have liked, Austen has been a great representative for ISU and ISU Athletics the last five years. Thanks for the memories, #4, and best of luck with your future endeavors.

Thanks for everything, but damn it felt like he was here forever.

It did? He wasn't even a four year starter.

Anyway, yes, thanks to Austen. It is a shame he won't get seen out of Jack Trice the way he should next week or with a bowl game.

He'll be a presence against MU even though he can't play. And he'll help JT prepare for the game. That's the thing about him.....I'm pretty sure he will be more concerned about how the team does then the fact that he can't play.

Austen has been the face of our program during a huge period of transition and unrest. He has always handled himself well off the field and on, and statistically is one of the better QBs to ever play at ISU regardless of what anyone says about him. The was a tremendous ambassador for our school, and I'm proud to call him a Cyclone.

Good a thread that doesn't sound like a bunch of eulogies. Thank You Austen and ALL of the Seniors. Life ain't fair.

you weren't the best QB but you did represent the university in a positive way. At least you were better than Brett.

Nice to see some of the fan base is still treating Brett like **** and will likely continue to treat Austen like **** with backhanded thank you's. It's sad, really.

I'm telling you. Dont give up hope on him yet. I'm taking this "report" with a grain of salt. I'll believe it when I hear it from the man.

Losing the game sucked. Losing AA for good sucks big time. I don't think he's the best qb, but he fought hard and didn't deserve to go out to injury on the road before senior day. Thanks, AA, for fighting for ISU and the fans.

It's amazing how fast time goes. Seems like it was just yesterday I was in the student section in 2007 chanting with the rest of the section "We want Austen!"

Best leader we've had since Ellis Hobbs. You never had to question his will and desire.

Unfair that he misses senior day. He deserved better than that.

We may have more talented quarterbacks in the future, but we will never suit up a truer Cyclone. It's not about the number of plays he's made or the number of wins he has or hasn't procured.

Austen is one of the good guys down to the very core of his being, and he will always and forever be one of my favorite Cyclones.
