Thailand BK burger

When I was in high school, in the 90's, I worked at Hy-Vee and one of my good friends worked at the Hardee's that shared a parking lot with the grocery store. Many nights, I'd get done working at 11pm, and as I walked out to my car, I'd hear him calling out to me, via the drive-thru speaker. Invariably, it would be to try some Frankenstein concoction that he'd dreamt up out of late night boredom. He was way ahead of the curve, when it came to using fried chicken as the bun on a sandwich, putting ungodly amounts of bacon on everything, and stacking burger patties high enough to be an affront to several ancient deities. Suffice to say, he beat this Thailand cheeseburger to market by a solid 30 years. It didn't taste good then, and I suspect it doesn't now.

This is just something to get their name in the media right? Why would you eat that, it's not like the cheese is that good. I could see like 4 or 5 slices, run through the griller open face, to make it a grilled cheese type sandwich. Even if health wasn't an issue, I wouldn't eat that. I'd rather gnaw on a wheel of swiss cheese.

As someone who loves cheese but hates American "cheese", this sounds disgusting.
Agreed. The prospect of eating a slice of American cheese, on its own, is almost nauseating to me. In a grilled cheese sandwich or melted on a burger is fine, maybe a little basic, but generally okay. But on its own, right out of the wrapper...ughh.

Knew a guy in college that would regularly buy two of those "quad stackers" from Burger King, smush them together and inhale an "octostacker". Wonder if he's still alive...

I was on a biz trip in England years ago, and we were visiting customers in a pretty rural area near the South Downs. Stopped at a roadside pub and had a "plowman" sandwich. It was essentially about a qtr pound of really good cheese (idr what kind, maybe white cheddar or gloucester) along with a couple slices of crusty bread. Just terrible nutrition, but absolutely delicious.

This Thai BK thing is a complete abomination however.
