Looking at heading down to tailgate Saturday morning. What time should we get to Ames to get a spot in Haunted Forest, or any of the other first come tailgate lots?

The Tip-Top Lounge opens at 7am.
It’s an easy place to meet and a good launching point to Jack Trice , whenever you decide to head over.

Not sure on Haunted Forest but Donor lots open at 10:00AM and Public (Grass) lots open at 1:00PM.
I've done the Pabst and chili morning at the Tip-Top.
It doesn't get more American than that
If I were you, I would call ahead and try to buy a spot online, perhaps even in their premium easy in/out area. (515) 249-0553
If you're going to one of the public lots make sure you buy a parking pass ahead of time online. I had to learn that the hard way last year unfortunately.
