My gut says TCU by 10.

Like others have already said, if a full team shows up, we can take them.
Would love for this to be the game where we see the O, D, and S teams, have a solid outing. Not saying they must be stellar, but just put things together and hold strong for 4 quarters.

OU exposed us with speed, TCU still has a bunch of it on the field. Don’t know if I love that matchup for us. I think Okie State exposed something and I’m not sure if we can fix it.

Im as optimistic as I have been all year. Saturday was brutal, but we hung with them for longer than I would have anticipated. The disappointing thing was that our defense gave up twice as many points as I thought we would. We passed the ball well, ran it well which i didnt see coming. At one point, we had more plays over 20 yards than OU did. Offensively, Rocco can be a guy, and defensively I hope Heacock realizes we cant get pressure with 3 because we no longer have Mcdonald. This TCU defense is worse than OU's by a decent margin, and the offense isnt as efficient. I like our odds the next 5 weeks, assuming the defense figures it out

TCU has the best running game we've faced thus far. If they're successful rushing to open the passing game, it's going to expose our secondary again. We're lacking some speed on defense this year so that's going to be a big concern from the first snap.

We match up fairly well across the board, and while they haven't played much of anybody yet, they still have some line strength and decent defense.

If our passing attack can continue to improve, there's a slimmer of hope that we can spread out the defense some for our run game. I think Sama could see more utilization as a quick screen option to get him out into space where he can shine.

hopefully the defense can turn it around and with the atmosphere of a night game at home on a special night, they get out of there with a close W

I always give my boys a chance. And I'll be there. Also it seems fall is finally showing up according to the weather report so I'd assume that'll play into our favor as well.

Getting the ball in his hands, particularly in spaces that force the defense to spread out, is critical to this season. He has tremendous upside but needs space to get going.

I just don't see is having enough offense to keep up with tcu. It won't be as much scoring as the ou game but a similar result where we hang around for a half but run out of gas.

We're missing a few defenders aren't we? Isn't Verdon still injured and why Nikkel is playing so much? Nikkel is a nice story and I'm not trying to put him down but I think he's better suited as a special teams guy and giving guys a breather. He's been run over a couple times around the goal line where a safety shouldn't have that happen. Also OU made our secondary look like high schoolers at times when they just chucked it up and our guys were running for their lives just to keep up and looked bad in the process.

TCU by 4. We will have a last chance drive at the end of the game and come up short.

27-23 bad guys.

If I had to pick today, I'd Say TCU 31, Iowa State 17. I don't know that we can score enough and also, our defense is struggling.

Closer to Saturday I might say, Iowa State 21, TCU 20 just because I very badly want to beat them. Selfishly. For reasons other than football. The last Iowa State game my mom ever saw was the one last year against TCU and she was gone the next day. The two are not related but still - there's a part of me that will always wish for a victory against TCU more than against anyone other than Iowa.

The only tiny silver lining of last season was she was in Iowa City for the Iowa game where we won and I got to go down there wearing Iowa State stuff around Kinnick every time I visited. Which was often. Still can't believe she's gone but I know its a sad reality of life.

So, I'll be rooting even harder for a win but I just don't know if I 100% believe.
