Coach Mac...you're good in my book:

1. Coached a two-time Heisman Trophy candidate (Davis).
2. Victories over Nebraska.
3. 5 bowl games in 6 years.
4. 2 bowl game victories.
5. Pounded a No. 8 Iowa team last year, 23-3.
6. Drilled Texas A&M in College Station, 42-14, last year.
7. Played Florida State to the wire in 2002.
8. Has currently 8 (?) players in the NFL.
9. Coached 2 All-Americans (Davis, Bruns).
10. 2001 Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year (collegefootballnews.com).
11. 2004 Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year (Big 12 Coaches).
12. Has coached 13 First-Team All Conference players.
13. Has brought in record-attendance levels at Jack Trice Stadium.
14. Football department upgrades...practice facilities, salary increases for assistants, etc.
15. Brought ISU to a #9 ranking in 2002...#9.
16. Has taken a cellar dweller with no $$$$$ to a respectable program with countless supportive boosters.
17. Has managed to get 80% of Cyclone Nation pissed at a 7-5 record...this speaks volumes.

Some people don't realize what they have until it is gone. Post a positive memory of ISU Football. And, hey, we've got 6 f*cking games left...GO CYCLONES!

The team and staff need your support right now, believe it or not.

Save the negative thoughts, ********, and moaning for the other threads...

Well-researched and worded. Even if you disagree with your sentiment, can't take away from your points.

I think this is a great reminder of all the things Mac has done for us...it's been 12 years, so the list should be this long. I just hope in the next 12 years, there are more items to add, more things to celebrate--whether that is with Mac or not.

Good Post....

Even with all the past positive things he has brought you have to remember we have a new AD. I dont know if he cares as much as cyclone fans about that stuff. He listens to what the fans are saying though and most of it is not good.

Good points. A nice list too.

Someone could also post a list of embarrassing things under D-Mac's reign as head coach.

Those things...+ and - ...are to be expected from a program like ISU that is scratching and clawing - trying to get near the top of a conference they've been used as a doormat for far too long.

It was a good post, but the Chicago Cubs still reminded us of what is important. WINNING. You may have a resume to impress the majority, but you need the record to impress your boss. Right now we are 3-3 just as predicted, but we could be 0-6. I appreciate what Mac has done, but more is needed as expected from the fans, and Pollard. Some say those expectations set by Pollard are crazy and way over exaggerated, well I think not.

Very good opening post, however, those things in the past don't get the stadium renovated, and get more money tossed to the program, which is what our new enthusiastic AD wants. But a big win on the road this weekend would put steam in everybody's step.

Don't go making assumptions that Pollard is getting heat on ousting Mac based on what people hiding behind a keyboard are posting on these message boards. I think the majority of fans are not happy with the season, but are not Mac-bashing and possessing the mentality of a lynchmob in the process.

There is your invitation darts and balls.

Great first post with all he has done for ISU football! My question remains, is this all the further he can take us? If so, at what point do we say thanks and move on?

Just wanted to throw out a couple positive memories:

ISU vs. FSU in Kansas City: This ranks as my 2nd favorite ISU game...even though we lost. We got down a lot right away and fought back the entire game. The team played with SOOO much heart it...it made me proud to be a Cyclone fan. The atmosphere in Arrowhead was AMAZING...I wish we could do something like that again.

ISU at. Iowa (2002): We were down big at halftime but came back to give Iowa their only loss of the regular season. Walking out of Kinnick was like walking out of a funeral. Iowa finished the season ranked #3. My all-time favorite ISU game.

ISU vs. Pitt (2000 Insight.com Bowl): The atmosphere was AWESOME. So many Cyclone fans in a HUGE stadium. When Billups took that punt back to the house it was so loud in the BOB. I would love if we could get 25,000-30,000 Cyclone fans to travel to a bowl game again.

Those are some great recent memories of mine.

P.S. I would give my right arm if we could redo the last half of the 2002 season.

I've highlighted the only points that fans care about and that being year end results. And the reality of these points...

3. The 5 bowl games are the Insight, Independence, Humanitarian, Independence, and Houston. Of those 5, the only bowl worthy team was the 2000 Insight Bowl Champions which I do consider an achievement. The 2000 team was the only team that would have had a good enough record to participate when bowl games only existed for good teams.

4. See above about the Insight bowl. Other victory against Miami of the MAC in the Independence Bowl...did anyone really care about this?

15. What was our ranking at the end of the year and who did we beat in our bowl game...oh wait a second, we didn't. After starting the season 6-1 and getting that #9 ranking, it started to run down our legs only to go 1-6 the rest of the year.

17. Bowl games should not exist for 7-5 teams. There should not be bowl games for teams outside the top 30, hell probably not even outside the top 20. When you figure 2-3 games are "automatics" (although for us they are not) you're basically saying "I'm ok with being .500."

"People only care about year end results." Really. Why are so many people complaining right now? What if we go 5-1 to end the season? We'll be 8-4...how will Cyclone Nation feel then?...(oh wait, probably not too good because we'd unlikely be a top 20 team and therefore, in your opinion, not eligible for a bowl):sad9cd::sad9cd::sad9cd::sad9cd::sad9cd:
