The Vikings make the playoffs does that mean that both of these guys are going to be back next year?

Gus Ferrotte with two broken bones in his back was better then T-Jack, IMHO.

Childress has been bad since day one and I still think he needs to go. But making the playoffs probably saved his job.

I'm not a Childress fan either, but hard to justify firing a guy thats taking a team to the playoffs that normally doesn't make the playoffs.

He probably is safe, but came within a 51yd field goal of dumping the last two games of the season for the second year in a row with the playoffs on the line. And my guess is that they are going to get rolled at home next weekend.

ACtually, if he misses the kick, I think the Vikes still get in since the Bears lost.

His clock managment is terrible. To end the first half and the second half it was bad. Why did he run a play with 7 seconds left just to have TJack toss the ball 25 yards out of bounds with no timeouts left?

Probably just to gain a few yards for his kicker. It was an obvious sideline route and when it wasn't there, the pass sailed way out of bounds. I've got no problem with that call. But the way they handled the clock between 25 seconds and 9 seconds left in the game left something to be desired.

Then again, Childress knows Longwell is money from 50+, so why risk a pick.

i don't think Gus or Jackson are the answer. they are both up and down. im worried about the Eagles. but if Longwell misses and if the Bears would have won, im not sure if Childress would be back. off season priority is to find a reliable qb, wr and work on AP's fumbling.

That last minute of the Giants game was possibly to worst specimen of game management I have ever seen. Jackson was celebrating after every play instead of focusing on the next. Childress just stood there and watched the seconds tick away. I wanted to rip my hair out. Thank goodness Longwell was true, like always.

Jackson looked outstanding against Det, Ari and Atl so yesterday's game was quite a let down. He didn't have the poise and looked more like the old TJ. I really like this team's chances to do some damage if he is playing well. If he plays like he did yesterday or worse, the Eagles are the only team they will see.

I'm actually going to the game Sunday and am pretty confident in a victory. The Eagles are favored by 3 because of the Dallas blowout, but I think it's the Vikes' game to lose. Philly and Donovan have a tendency of not showing up on the road (Cincy, Bal, Wash). If TJ plays above average and doesn't turn it over, AP and the defense will take care of the rest. Skol!!!

I'm just glad one of my teams are going to attend some post season play, and didn't even to have to go in backwards since they held off the Giants 3rd string. After the Green Bay loss in the first of the season, I swore I wasn't going to watch another game and actually hoped we wouldn't with another game the rest of the year so we could fire childress and get ith #1 draft pick hence getting rid of T-Jack.
However I did faulter on the not watching anymore games, and glad that I am not a Lions fan. so since the Lions took my plan and ran with it, so I guess I 'll take the playoffs

although t-jack looked eratic yesterday he still had some solid third down conversions late when it mattered. his pick near the goalline was inexusable, but that is the first pick he's thrown in his 3.5 games back. i personally think he was rattled by the giants pressure but will rebound next week and lead us to victory. as for childress, he has actually done a fairly good job imo since about the halfway point of the season. how he does in the playoffs could decide his fate in minnesota.

The Vikings will never really go anywhere with TJ and Childress. The clock management at the end of the game was the worst since missing our time to pick in the draft. It's sad that we spent all off season banking on TJ and not looking for a real QB when 90% of the fanbase knew he was going to suck. Childress should go back to being on Major Dad, I think Tice was 10x the coach.
Nobody wanted to win that NFC North Division and it took luck for the Vikes to get it. As die hard purple and gold as I am, I think the Eagles will totally dismantle us in the postseason.
I hope I'm wrong.

The eagles will most definitely not destroy us in the post season. We play at home in front of one of the best crowds in football plus everyone will be jacked up cuz we haven't been in the playoffs for awhile
Hope you're right. But the Eagles are on fire right now and, a lot like ISU, once I get confident in the Vikes I get dropkicked in the sack.
I'm trying reverse psychology on myself via this message board.

T Jack is not as bad of a QB as most on here claim him to be. He is WAY better than Gus. Way better.

Childress is awful though and should be fired regardless IMO. He won't be though

I agree, he would make a way better backup QB than Gus.

Possibly. I seriously think he could be a good starting QB some day. He is mobile, throws a decent ball, and his confidence is growing every game. Hopefully with that increased confidence comes better decision making.

I would have no problem with Jackson being the starting QB for the Vikes next year

I don't think Jackson can lead a team to the playoffs at this point. He makes too many bad throws and holds on to the ball to long. He hasn't lasted a whole season yet which worries me as well.

I would. A really good QB is all that is needed to turn the Vikes from a mediocre team into a legitimate championship contender. Tavaris would be the 3rd string guy on some teams.

How many Super Bowls has the Vick-Prototype QB won or played in? The last 10 years starting QBs inthe playoffs - Favre, Elway, Chandler, Warner, McNair, Dilfer, Collins, Brady, Johnson, Gannon, Delhomme, McNabb, Roethlisberger, Hasselbeck, Manning bros., Grossman.
