NFL: Strahan would consider returning, Giants open to idea

Don't get the wrong idea about this, but with Omenyura gone the Giants are a little bit desperate for bodies on the line.

I see the Giants failing to make the playoffs this year. Not just because of this, but more a general feeling.

Posted something similar around a few weeks ago. The East will be very competitive again. And I see the Giants easily finishing last in the division.

The big injury will only make it worse for 'em.

I think even before the injury the Giants' season depended on what the offense does - if it explodes like it did during the playoffs, I think they'll be just fine. If the offense doesn't show up, then it's going to be a long season for my dad...

I can't remember another year when the defending Super Bowl Champs seemed so vulnerable. Maybe the Steelers after their latest win, or the Ravens after theirs. I mean, is there anyone picking the Giants to go back?

Nothing against them. They put together a playoff run for the ages last year, and it was an absolute treat to watch, but I just cannot see them doing much of anything this year.

This is how Favre was supposed to return...

This is quite a bit different from the Favre situation. Had Aaron Rodgers gone down in the preseason before all the drama started, I'm sure the Packers would have given Brett anything to come back.

$8 mil for one season and he hasn't been training for the last however many months, seems like a long shot.

He might not be in as good of shape, but he knows the entire system like the back of his hand. I'd take him over any player they could trade or get from free agency.

The Giants in general, as a team, are quite fragile. From their coach, to Eli, etc. The injuries and key departures are only going to make it worse. If Strahan comes back and behaves like a good leader - it can go a long ways toward a good season for them.
