Strahan likely to stay retired

Good for him, walk away on top. There isn't a better way to go, and now you don't come back after being under conditioned and then get hurt and then be go back into retirement limping.

I agree, I doubt they finish above .500.
That division is too competitive.

Good for Strahan, though.

They did perform well by using the "us against the world" method last season, so who knows. I just don't think they have the right leadership now that will be on the field, and the players, to do it again.

Let's not forget that Coach Tom was damn near out of a job before their Super Bowl run. I think a lot of stars had to be in alignment for them to pull off what they did, and I'm not knocking them for that. It was a helluva run, and great to watch. BUT, this is a team with a lot of question marks. They were last year, and they are again this year. I highly doubt that the stars are still in alignment.

The points made above are all good ones, and I think even with Strahan the team would be in a similar position. Strahan probably knew it too, and it was probably one of the factors that led to his decision to stay retired.

Yup. People forget how horrid Eli was through much of the season, with exception to a few late season games and then he lit the world on fire in the playoffs. If he plays like good Eli, they've got a nice shot and their defense will actually be what holds 'em back.

If he plays like bad Eli, they finish 4th in the East and it won't even be close. The Giants fans will meltdown and eat their young.

Remember the debacle against Minnesota, last year, when Eli threw 4 picks, had a completion percentage under 50, and a QB rating in the 30's?

He really only had about two good games during the regular season against Dallas and New England. Other than that he was, at best, average.
