Everybody wants to start off a football game with a lead, but in 2023's college football, it carries a new meaning of importance.

Can we just stop letting TV networks dictate the rules of the game? They screwed with the rules 10 years ago to shorten games by letting the clock run after punts. I think that lasted one year before they realized it was a dumb rule change.

2023 seems like a repeat of that mistake, but with a different aspect of the game. We should not replace game time with commercial time.
