Starters

Going off of yesterday's practice, I would say:
PG; Dodie Dunson
SG: Corey McIntosh
SF: Rashon Clark
PF: Wesley Johnson (this guy is going to be a STUD)
C: Jiri Hubalek

Starters were listed in the Register this morning
PG; Corey Mcintosh
SG: Dodie Dunson
SF: Rashon Clark
PF: Wesley Johnson
C: Ross Marsden

If you listened to McD's press conference on Cyclones.com, he said he feels more comfortable with Dodie at the 2 right now because of his shooting.

He also said Wesley was a better fit for the 3, but because we're so thin up front with Jiri's coming suspension and Jessan being hurt, we needed him to step in and play there.

I think in a month, we're going to see a dramatically different starting lineup.

Yep. In a month there will be a lot of players and more depth. Our line-ups will probably look like this.

PG Mcintosh/Taylor
SG Taylor/Dunson/Jacobson
SF Clark/ W. Johnson
PF Hubalek/C Johnson/W Johnson
C Marsden/Hubalek

I thought that Cory Johnson was going to be able to come in and help at the PF position. Is he not doing well in practice or something?

I'm guessing Wesley is just that good. After watching him this summer he is an amazing athlete. This guy is gonna be good. Hopefully he doesn't choke and make me look like an a** tonight.

I agree to a certain extent, but McD talked a lot about Jessan Gray too, and I think we'll see him get some quality minutes.

I agree. I have heard a lot about Gray doing well before the injury. I think we are going to see a revolving door between the 3,4 & 5 spot with the most minutes going to who has the hot hand that night.

Question- Does taylor just have to sit out for one game

Wasn't he suspended indefinitely? Doesn't that mean we won't know how long he is on the bench until McDermott decides that his academic performance has improved enough that he can play again?

Taylor will be there when we need him. McD imposed this suspension, Not the NCAA. As soon as McD says he has met the standards for the team, he is back.

Does Jiri's suspension include the exhibition games, or can he play in those?

From what I've read, Jiri will play in the exhibition games.

From gocyclones.com "Junior forward Jiri Hubalek will miss the Cyclones' first six regular-season games because of an NCAA suspension for accepting improper benefits, but he is available tonight and for Monday's exhibition against Wayne State."

I'd imagine that he isn't starting so that the starting five for the regular season can get some PT together. Try to simulate the start of the real season and get some chemistry between the guys.

Last night GMAC said that Taylor is doing the things asked of him, now they just need to see the results. If all goes well GMAC said he could rejoin us in the next 10 days, but we will see.

Jiri can play in the exhibition games, but not the regular season.
