I went back and looked at the official game stats. If what i saw is correct....ISU won the game ..while Nicky was on the court.

FIRST HALF
First 3:16 -- 2 fouls. Sat down with ISU down 6-5.
Did not play rest of half.

SECOND HALF
Picked up 3rd foul 1:34 in. Subbed out. Stanford 4-0 in that segment.

In at 14:23, with ISU down 20. Out at 0:52, with ISU down 22.

TOTAL
18 minutes of playing time.
ISU outscored by 7 in that span.

Disappointed in your post - Even if it were true, which it appears not to be, the implication is that other players in the low post were more responsible for the loss than Nicky. All took their turns and all struggled.

sorry about the play/play ,looked at a shorter version that didn't show sub-in,sub-out times.Appel had everyone beat, but the girls as a team seemed to play with more energy for the brief time nicky was on the court for this game.With-out Amanda this game would-not have even been worth watching...had to be one of her BEST games ever.

If fouls weren't a factor, Nicky probably would have given us our best chance, but they are and that is they way it goes. Bottom line, however, was not that Appel was so good, but that the rest of the team was so talented, you couldn't let up on them to put more emphasis on the big girl. It was pick you poison.
