Staiger really kicked some (gr)*** tonight and i was really impressed by his shooting but his defense was good and not great because there were times he got blown by and sometimes he looked like our best defensive player

For the whole team i like the way we rebounded (offensively and defensively)and we actually had second chance points for a change

He could become a great one for us. When he is doing more than just waiting for his 3 shot to come around (driving & pulling up) and hustlin' on D (active hands D and rebounding) good things come so much faster for him. With a lot of attention needing to go to DG and CB (and rightfully so) things are really gonna be open for him to take advantage of all big 12 season. He is probably my favorite Cyclone player now since Rashon Clark. Long Live the Staiger bomb!

Agree, the way he's going soon in Ames all Jager-bombs will be called from here on forward Staiger-bombs. If I owned a bar in Ames that would be what they're called now and for ever.

You should just speak with him somehow someway and see what the Germany's equivalent is to a jager-bomb and then call it the staiger-bomb! You know some bar would do it I'm sure...have like a staiger-bomb special on ISU days where they are like half price during game time for away games and like a quarter off for each three he makes that night if its a home game!

you my friend just created a drinking game for me. Everytime staiger makes a three take a staiger bomb.

If I were in Ames, I'd start it myself. Time for a student to get in the bars are get it started. Next time I'm back in town I want to be able to walk in to bar and order a Staiger-bomb and have the bartender know what I want.

He is willing to take pressure shots unlike many of our players. It takes some pressure off Craig forcing it.

I like him even more when he doesn't force shots.

McDermott actually mentioned in his post-game that Lucca needs to pull the trigger MORE often, as he had 2 or 3 good looks he passed up. Realize this isn't the same as forcing shots (only 1 I can think of offhand from the game tonight), but...yeah, really like Lucca.

One thing I noticed he didn't do as much this game that I have seen the last couple games is driving to the hoop like he has the last couple of games. He has done that pretty frequently the last couple games and kicks it out to an open shooter. I'd also like to see him take it all the way to the hole a couple times because he had the shot on those drives, but kicked it out needlessly. If he masters that skill I think it will open up a ton of stuff on our offense, in addition to help keep his defender off him a little bit because he's a threat to go to the hoop.
