Has anyone bought extended warranties from Squaretrade before? Experiences? They have a 35% off coupon code SUPERBOWL for tv's bought through the end of the month and I just bought a TV off Amazon...not sure what their reputation of paying claims is? Their prices with the coupon code seem to be about half that of what you get in a store.

Extended warranties are high profit items. Meaning, I never get one. Except on the Xbox360. To not do so on that would be foolish. Most well designed electronics will fail quickly, or not for a long time.

There's a huge mark up on extended warranties when bought at retail. I'm normally opposed to them but we bought one on our fridge from dealer who sold it to us "at cost," which was about 1/2 what the normal rate was. we only bought it because it was a brand new style/design. We just had our first claim and it paid for itself. But I've never done it through this group.
