Special Teams

Perkins and Contreraz have both been great, but I’m not sure that I would say much improved. Field goal blocked, along with Noel looking completely lost on kick/punt returns, it was a complete regression from everything positive we saw against UNI
Our special teams looks much improved. Feel like a few things need cleaning up.

Contreraz kicks a good ball and solid leg. The block yesterday sounded like issue with line not ready for snap, so Iowa got penetration. Campbell mentioned something hinky with referee moving ball.

Perkins hasn't been rushed hard, but he appears to be getting ball off quickly. He has GREAT leg, just a matter of he can perfect the details- direction and pooch kicks.

Noel is a bit of a head scratcher. The bounced punt looked bad on Noel, but it was low/miss-hit. If he wasn't 100% confident he could gather the ball off the bounce, he was wise to give up 10 yards vs. turnover.

The kick-off was interesting. The ball bounced back onto the field. I would be curious how often that happens. Regardless, he should keep eye on ball to confirm it goes in end zone. It might have turned out better that he didn't see ball bounce on end zone and then bounce back onto field. He might have went to pick it up and fumbled or tried to return it.;)
