Nice job Clones. Somehow I don't think our redo is going to look so nice.

Mostly nice comments on your board, if some of your fans are down about improvements I imagine the situation with the Big East exit may have put your department a bit behind most of the B12 teams in some way. Plus this is something ISU fans have been dreaming about for decades. You wouldn't believe how many times fans here would show your bowled in end zone (the one some fans in that thread are complaining about now) and dream that we'd do the same some day...I've seen ISU fans posting about the WVU stadium since the dawn of the internet in the 90s.

One thing I always laugh at is every Big 12 team acting like the other college towns are boring/nothing to do...yet outside of Austin I think they're all quite similar. TCU is in a city but it's not a big campus and I think the city it's in is pretty boring compared to the cities I've lived in.

KU fans are the worst about it, they have a weird misperception that Lawrence is on par with NYC. Someone from a major city is going to see zippo difference between any Big 12 college towns. It looks like Morgantown population and WVU enrollment are very similar to Ames/ISU.

Despite/including some of the less flattering remarks we are VERY similar. And for one, I'm proud to embrace our similar traits. I think they are worth embracing. Nice job with the stadium.

Let's hope a similar trait is we both keep picking up wins against KU basketball ;-) Trust me you'll be worshiped here if you post after beating them.

Then so it shall be! Press Virginia. To be honest though if we're going to trade it would be nice if you'd let us win at home.

My brother in law is a senior at WV, and my wife and I went out and visited him this summer, as well as heading out for the game vs Maryland in Sept.

I really liked their campus, very hilly and beautiful landscapes. Similar campuses in the fact that there are some very neat brick buildings, overall I am partial to ISU, but thats very biased. My BIL seems to really enjoy it there and he was a kid that grew up in Iowa.

I've been a casual WVU fan for a long time, so I was glad when they joined the Big 12. Very classy post - thanks!

Went to the ISU vs. WV football game 2 years ago. Classy and friendly fans and a great college town. It definitely has the same feeling as Ames.

Lots of similarities between ISU/Ames and WVU/Morgantown. I get the feeling a lot of people don't think highly or are at best indifferent about the states of Iowa and West Virginia, but most college football fans would love the people, tailgating, gameday atmospheres, etc. of both college towns.

I'd be lying if I said WVU was at the top of my Big 12 expansion wish list (still sore we didn't go nab Louisville.) But I'm sure glad WVU is in the league now.

Nice post. Appreciate your kind words.

After seeing Geno Smith shove our 70 year old defensive coordinator and hearing the comments made by WVU fans targeting Deandre Kane and his mother I really do not like WVU. Which is okay because I desperately needed another team to despise after Nebraska left. The football and basketball series between the two schools have been a lot of fun and the little rivalry only makes it more entertaining!

It amazes me when people criticize Ames or Iowa about "Is there anything to even do there?" Does Freaking Morgantown have stuff to do?? Its half the size of Ames! Im sure its a nice town but please...

As someone from a town "with a lot to do," I am guessing most of the people in big cities such as Chicago/NY, etc. don't end up doing much outside of their normal routine anyway. It is nice to have some other things around, but you give up some other things. It is very annoying to hear people say that phrase repeatedly.

Even with my ISU bias, I will give the tip of the cap to "Take Me Home, Country Roads" vs. "Sweet Caroline"
