Small cans of beer?

We started adding a potato to our candy bowl last year (saw it on TikTok), results were hilarious. We'd just put one potato on top of the bowl between groups of kids - the potato was almost always the first thing picked (and we have full size candy bars!). We went through a whole bag of russets in about 30 minutes. We quickly became known as the 'potato house' of the neighborhood. Highly recommend.

A couple neighbors had treats for adults, and most walk around w/ drink in hand. Def one of my favorite holidays.

The parents never leave their cars here. I guess you could hand the kid a beer to give to Dad while he slow rolls down the block. Did have a kid get hit by a car a couple of blocks away a few years ago. I think he ran right in front of the car his Dad was driving, but just a few cuts and bruises.

With our daughters 22 and 18 we've been done with the trick-or-treating thing for several years now, I'm sure I'll miss it someday but honestly spending Halloween at home with a big pot of chili on the stove, handing out candy with the "Halloween" movies on is one of my favorite nights of the year.

For yrs my folks was the last stop of the nieces and nephew for the night, they would all come in, G&G got to see the costumes, they all had soup of some kind for supper, then they all went home.
