ESPN Dallas said that each one of the players put up $1500 towards the bill because it was just a prank to teach him a lesson for not carrying the pads.
Especially if he's making 8.2 million. That's a lot more than some of the other players, such as linemen, are making.
As if they wouldn't have pulled this prank on him without the lesson attached if he had carried the pads...

Yeah, this is a pretty big non-issue for me. Rich people spend lots of money on stuff they probably don't need. So what. They also donate millions (sometimes billions) of dollars to worthy causes too.

BS. Its their money, they have the right to do what they want with it.
He's not actually making $8 mil a year though. His contract is $8.5 million guaranteed/5 years. At roughly $1.7 million a year, spending $54,000 on one meal would be analogous to someone making $50k a year spending $1600 on one meal, or $3100 for someone who earns $100k. Decent amount, if he would have paid it.
Not the case here because Jerry Jones ponied up some of his own money for a stadium, but when these billionaire owners blackmail city governments into subsidizing their stadiums it involves TAXPAYER MONEY!
Since the Cowboys suck I would think they should start thinking about football instead of pranks.
