That's what I'm thinking. No good can come of this. I'm guessing an impossibly lame remake of The Goonies is up next. Or maybe a modern day "update" of the Princess Bride.

With them wanting to update it with MORE TERROR, it will suck. The whole point of those was cheesy comedy-horror. If they lean to far to horror, it might as well be something else entirely. And I dont want some bs Bruce cameo.

Also, Diablo Cody is writing the screenplay? The same person who wrote Juno & Jennifer's body? This is going to be awful from the minute Ash yells "honest to blog" at a demon.

This will be horrible. How can you have Evil Dead without Sam Raimi directing and Bruce Campbell starring? It's just a terrible horror movie without them.
