65-10. Another embarrassment. Another showing of ineptitude. And, suddenly, the sunshine pumpers are awfully quiet. Cat got your tongue? The 22nd game in the infamous era of Mike Sherman sure looked familiar, didn’t it? Here’s some breaking news, Aggie fans. Under Sherman, Texas A&M’s football program has become THE embarrassment of the Big 12. This delegation doesn’t come merely from wins and losses. It comes from the simple fact that this and last year’s teams do not compete. Seriously, what teams in the Big 12 or, better yet, the entire Football Bowl Subdivision get blown out more often than the Aggies? In Sherman’s almost two years at the helm, the Aggies have lost 12 out of 16 games to teams from BCS conferences. In those 12 losses, the margin of defeat is nearly 27 points. Read it again. And, again. Let’s all stop the argument about this team being young. Seriously, it’s game 10 of 2009, and the team is regressing. That is a direct reflection on the coaching staff’s inability to develop talent… The fact of the matter remains, if the Twelfth Man is expecting any sort of change, then you are going to be sorely disappointed. The athletic department sits in a multi-million dollar hole. Our athletic director, in his pursuit of “Building Champions,†signed off on Sherman, an unproven commodity in the college game, for seven years. And, here’s the kicker. Sherman’s buyout would be nine million dollars in December. Suffice to say, he’s not going anywhere. And, for that matter, neither is Texas A&M football. – The Battalion

Could Franchione be headed to UNLV?

The Battalion is a campus paper.

I'm not trying to defend A&M at all here but remember they did beat us and they start ~18 true freshmen on their team. He may be under the hot seat if they lose to Baylor (big money doners will be yelling loud) but otherwise he is fine. The Athletic Department at A&M does not have the $ to buy him out. They still owe the University a large wad of cash that Gates loaned them when he was President of A&M.

Is this worse than, or not as bad as; being on the hot-seat?

I always root for A@M when they are not playing us. I would like to see them get it together down there. I am a Packer fan and know that Sherman is a horrible coach so I don't think he will get it done.
A@M messed up when they unloaded RC Slocam. They were always top 10 and pulled in good recruits. Problem was they always lost to Texas.

I am still blown away that A&M has been so bad/average for so long with the money they have.

I don't think Sherman is the answer there and expect that he won't be there in a year or 2.

We have no room to bash or judge Texas A&M. Sherman is 2-0 against ISU.

Thats what I was thinking...I was in Kyle Field for the latest A & M beatdown of the clones and it wasnt pretty to watch!

If the defense didnt play its guts out it would have been 65-10!!!!

Oklahoma's recruiting in Texas is killing aTm and Baylor. Until that changes there isnt much hope for the bears or aggies!!!!

Go Clones "Rock the House" @ far-out field aka faurot field!!!

For a second there I thought this was one of our members talked crap about a team that pounded us. That's like getting wailed on by the school bully, then mocking him after someone else roughed him up.

That really doesn't sound a lot different then the general sentiment around here after some ugly losses the last several seasons. I'm glad it's finally someone else and not us for a change.

I hate to break it to you guys but when The Battalion describes A&M football as the embarrasment of the Big XII they're correct and I, a Cyclone fan *gasp* agree. Regardless of OU or UT's recruitment in the state of Texas, A&M should not be performing as poorly as they are; they have a budget, fanbase and tradition that dwarfs ours not to mention the fact that they'e won seventeen SWC Championships (including '91, 92', '93), oh and a Big XII Championship in '98. How could A&M fans not be embarassed?

SHERMAN HAS A VERY DECENT CLASS OF RECRUITS COMING IN FOR YEAR 2010..THEY SHOULD JUMP UP THE SCALE WITH THE QUALITY OF RERCUITS THEY HAVE COMING IN IN 2010.

I don't think Recruiting has ever been a problem for ATM. They might not get the same quality of recruits as Texans and OU, but they have better talent than most of the conference. Their recruiting hasn't even dropped off that much in the last few bad years.

They have the talent, money, and fan support to be #2 or #3 in the conference. Their coaching is the problem. If they ever wise up and hire a good coach, they could really shoot up in the conference.

Sherman is getting them in a bowl in his second year and it sounds like he has a good recruiting class coming in. These idiots who are jumping off the bandwagon at A&M will be jumping right back on next year when they go 8-4...They need to see the big picture!
