Capacity will be 60-65,000, rough sketches are done, but architects and engineers will have to agree to get to finished concept. They are exploring either tunnels under University Ave or bridges over the top. Experts say only way bridges would work is if you could go directly into the stadium. Could be a nice look with multiple bridges. Otherwise people don't like to go up and have to come back down. Flood concerns on tunnels, but maybe more useable than bridges. Will be nice green space South of JT, but parking changes will have to happen. Guess that's about it. They are making progress. Also have to work on configuration of luxury suites and kitchens. Not an easy process.....From Johnny's today.

All sounds good except the capacity. I just hope we can fill 65,000 seats at full price, not the next to nothing prices people on the hills pay. Plus, during down years the stadium will look bad with all the empty seats. Would've rather seen more like 45,000-50,000.

The bridges across will be a pain in the ace. I bet the go with the tunnel. If the tunnel is flooded so will be the lots as they will be almost as low as the tunnel.

EDIT: When I say lots I mean the grass lots. If we have that much water no one will be over there anyways.

If you build it, they will come

Sounds good, 60k-65K capacity sounds about right. People need to realize that there are just more cyclone fans than there used to be, and will only continue to grow with the University heading toward 35k enrollment. Sure there may be empty seats when they are bad, but thats the case everywhere.

It's closer to 60k than 65k. Although if you crammed enough people into the north hillsides you could probably get 100k.

Good point. Worry about the what-ifs.

You do realize that if the team is as bad as you say, the stadium will look empty with 45-50k?

Tired of this lame-*** excuse.

Glad to hear theyre talking about pedestrian bridges\tunnels, id lean more towards the tunnels if i had a choice.

That capacity mentioned 60-65K includes 6K of north hillsides. We already have 46K actual seats, so NO we're not going to have anything close to your numbers with the new SEZ. Our average attendance the last few years has been more than 50K, so stop worrying.
