MLB: Serving a suspension while on the DL???

I think pitchers should be required to miss a set number of starts or appearances. For a starting pitcher a 4 game suspension means almost nothing to them. That is their normal rest time anyway.

That would just hurt the team then because they couldn't call someone up from the minors to take that spot.

I don't remember, were they allowed to call someone up on that? If so, that is a loophole in the rules that needs to be fixed!!

Only if baseball was serious - it is not - only with the minors. I think the game would be destroyed if all the positives were actually punished. Shame on baseball. Shame on the cheaters.

Yes. I believe I started a thread on it on here when it happened, but I'm not sure. It would be a huge disadvantage for teams to only have a 24 man roster for 50 games, especially in the NL, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It would provide a greater incentive not to cheat.

I agree completely!! Wasn't a member here at that time last year so I wouldn't recall the thread.
