Seneca on 1460 This Morning

I can't think of a better QB coach than Sage..whether he wants to coach idk..but the guy is just a winner and seems to me to be a really smart guy who players would gravitate towards.

would he be willing to accept a GA position? That's the only way I could see it happening

Who cares if we break the norm of "must be a GA first", I'd love him as a QB coach.

Kendal Briles - HC
Sage - OC
Seneca - QBCoach

That would actually be intriguing.
So you would take a guy that has 1 year of offensive coordinating and make him a head coach, not have him call the plays, and bring in a guy with no experience to call plays.

They'd still win 3 games and we're right back to where we are now.

But who says a head coach can't call plays? Who made that rule? (serious question by the way)

Oh man, I would not want to be Jamie this off season. Impossible decision. This hire will decide his job guaranteed.

um...this is not like hiring Fred for basketball...I'm not so sure this is a great idea. We need someone with experience instead of on-the-job training. Seneca could be an asset in some way but I think he needs to work his way into the discussion with more than his playing. Just an opinion.

Because going the traditional route has worked so well for us? We're at the rock bottom here people. It's going to take something innovative to even get this program to a single 7 win season.

I could be thinking about this wrong, but it almost doesn't matter to me anymore 'who' it is or how much experience they have.....they need to be able to recruit. I hate to even mention that school from the east, but isn't that what happened in their down years for KF? They were subpar as to the players they were bringing in. And that was even with a background as an NFL line coach. Yes, I understand some will say Chizik could recruit but look where that got us. I guess I don't include him much as even being at ISU. lol

I don't disagree with you...but this is more than knowing a playbook and great athletic ability. This person needs to know how to handle and manage people as well as call plays and motivate. All I'm saying is I think there might be people who have more experience in THAT area as opposed to the actual playing aspect. I've got to believe there are other options out there.

I see no problems with having Seneca or someone like him on staff, but running the show is too much for someone like that right now. Even Fred had people help him...

Or, what the hell...go for broke and hire the guy. We almost can't be worse.
