I wonder if McDermott has asked Paul Rhodes about borrowing Sedrick Johnson for the basketball team next year??? I heard he was a good basketball player, I also heard the Hollis RB recruit coming in this year was a good b-ball player. Under normal situation I doubt PR would allow it, but we'll need some bodies next year. They are both D1 athletes, and with some practice could help the team.

I posted something about this awhile back---I honest to god think that if the football team put together a team that they could beat the basketball team in basketball...Ive seen a few of those guys play and their athleticism is way higher than the b-ball team....

Why would we want one of our better football players playing on a basketball team that isn't going to be very good?

No chance in hell.

I think it'd be good because it might make our basketball team better. I want a good football team and basketball team.

The only way I would want him play is if he was the difference between us making and not making the NCAA tournament. I highly doubt he is that good.

I thought part of the reason Sed came to ISU was the possibility of playing MBB. No?

Why would ISU not do every thing they can to give themselves a chance to win MBB games? I think it is a good idea if it allows the team to have someone on the bench. A couple more bench player last year and the season might not have been quite as bad as it was.

Go to the rec in the summer and just watch---that Spears kid is the one that should be playing basketball, he has really good post moves for a big dude...

I understand they're good athletes and probably good b-ball players in HS... you don't understand though. The b-ball team at ISU were recruited D-I players and play EVERYDAY. I remember watching John Neal play (who by all accounts was a average to below average player in college. Great Defensive player though) and he NEVER MISSED when playing at the rec or in intramurals. When those guys aren't playing against D-I players from Missouri, Kansas, or Texas... they're unbelievable. I bet DG can shoot the lights out when some guy at the Iowa State rec center is guarding him. He just doesn't shoot well when Sherron Collins is guarding him. There is a HUGE difference.

In closing, the football team could not beat the basketball team at a game of basketball... even after all the defections and graduations.

How many times does it need to be said? The football team still needs SedJ and we don't want to give him any ideas of transferring...

I would LOVE to put about three or four players from the football team onto our basketball team that has experience in basketball. For example,

Arnaud- Bruiser of a power forward hell of a highschool basketball player. Reminds me exactly like Kenny Pratt
Sedrick Johnson- Can you imagine trying to out jump him for a rebound or on a put back? Rahshon Clark writen all over him.
Duran Hollis- I dont know much about him but if he was a good bball player in hs then sign him up! I bet he is one athletic athlete if he is playing football.

How about like Stevie Johnson, except AA would be going the other way? SJ used up eligibility in BB then played FB - AA use up eligibility in FB then play BB.
