SEC is leaving CBS in 2024 (maybe sooner) for ABC/ESPN in a 10-year deal worth a reported $300+ million per year for the league. If that figure holds, each SEC school would receive an additional $20 million in revenue per year and would eclipse the Big Ten as the richest conference in terms of annual TV cash.

Is this the first post-2024 media contract?

I guess that means the conferences are not going to shake up if the SEC already has its TV deal.

I don't think the SEC was ever looking to expand further. The PAC12 is the one to watch to see if there are interested bidders.

Just like other contracts, I'm sure there's terms included regarding a change in membership (up or down)

There have been instances of speculation from some quarters, and CW is one of them, that all the TV contracts ending in 2024 would trigger an apocalyptic event where every school and conference would have a blank slate regarding its media rights, and perhaps the P5 conferences could band together, start a new division within the NCAA or even create their own replacement organization, and collectively realign/completely change the face of the sport.

The SEC locking up a long-term deal with the House of Mouse kind of buggers that possibility.

IMO that CBS window and production quality / style is awesome. I think thats a great opportunity for any conference. A dedicated afternoon / evening window for your top game.

Stewart Mandell and Bruce Feldman talked about this on one of their podcasts in the last year. Said it was a crazy bargain for CBS at the time because the SEC wanted security by number of years.

I honestly dont think this is great for the B12. I see CBS more ACC like and shoving Clemson, Florida State, VT, BC, UNC at us more than a B12 game.
