that's crazy. although maybe installing seats is the last part of the process? what a complete mess.
I know they choose these locations years out, but why not vote on locations that may not be a risk for some of the problems Rio is facing? Obviously back when they picked Rio they didn't know Zika would be a big problem, but still. That place is flat out not safe.
Wow, how will they pull this off. What an embarrassment. Why do we insist on globe trotting the Olympics. Lets pic 4 locations that have great facilities already. Let different countries host at those locations. Provide low airfare and hotels to the host nation, so they can experience it. Would be much cheaper than what Brazil is going through.
Sydney, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Beijing. Can probably all handle it now without much problem.

I think part of the problem is that the Olympics are focusing on giving it to less developed countries as opposed to the elite countries. Why, I am not sure, but that is what they are doing.
Overall, I think part of the problems with these games now is that they all seem to require their own venue to participate in. Also, some sports also seem to require a venue for just one purpose, like the biking court. Some things probably have a payoff over the years, but some of these smaller things that only serve one purpose do not. They probably need to evaluate some of these sports and determine if they really need them.
