Rolen was my favorite cardnal player, along with Albert. I think his fued with Tony LaRussa was just too much. Now, with his contract of the roster, hopefully the cardinals can signa few rising stars and improve the farm system, which really does need improvements.
When he was here in AZ the rumor was that the reason the D-Backs got rid of Glaus was that he wasn't a good clubhouse guy. It'll be interesting to see if LaRussa gets along with him any better than Rolen.
As a Jays fan I happy about the move. Both still have to come back from an injury but both are about equal hitters and Rollen won't clog the bases as bad as Glaus did, not to mention the huge boost in D.
I followed a link today talking about a big trade only to see this story...
These guys are both far less productive then they have been and I see no reason to expect it to change. Sounds like they just wanted something to do so they decided to swap and see what happens...
