Saw P'Allen today

i'm sure hes enjoyed himself on every visit he's been on. no matter where it was.

martdawg - thanks for the post. The rest of this is not directed at you...but the entire P'Allen situation.

Cyclone fans, the fate of ISU basketball does not hang in the balance of P'Allen Stinnett. He is just one key to the puzzle. A very good key, but just one key none the less.

If he chooses another school over ISU, it will be disappointing - a tough loss - but we'll move on. Fans who are saying "well Stinnett isn't that good in the first place" need to get their heads checked. He is good or G-Mac would not have gone after him after he recommitted for '06. Just as the fans thinking we're doomed if P'Allen goes elsewhere need to get their cat scanned.

I think since this P'Allen saga began a long ago, there's been a brand new post about him on a weekly basis. And sometimes, like recently, almost daily.

We want P'Allen and he could be a big part of ISU, that much we know. We don't need him, or any other player for that matter.

Hopefully he commits to ISU and we can welcome him with open arms. If not, best of luck to him and we’ll go get the next guy.

Get his autograph. Maybe he will make it big someday. That's not sarcastic, I am serious.

Gosh, I hope this kid nor his parents read this forum! Great post ISUFan22! I agree 100%. No recruit is bigger than the entire program.

do we really want someone who doesn't want to actually compete for a starting spot in the line up??? is he that great of a player that he doesn't think that he should have to compete for playing time??

Someone please tell me where P'Allen or anyone close to him said "I/P'Allen does not want to compete for a starting spot."

I'm waiting...

I know we don't "need" him - and I know he's good....the only reason I'm interested in following the situation is because this seems to be the first recruit that Mac hasn't gotten that he's put this much time into.

The fact that he has extended the process out this far without committing to ISU makes it clear to me that he really wants to play elsewhere. If he changes his mind and commits to ISU that would be fine with me, but if he really doesn't want to be here this is not the place for him

Good luck to him no matter what he chooses (unless he happens to be playing against the clones some time in the future).

We also put a fair amount of time in on Kenton Walker. On the other hand we have pulled out big recruits like Brackins, Garrett and Staiger.

I agree that P'Allen is one more piece to the puzzle and would love to have him. If not, I'm sure there are other pieces that can fit into the puzzle.

...or you can look at is as though he's making an informed decision and not jumping in bed with the first school who offers him. Check out how many of the top 150 have de-committed in the past few months.

No need to slander the kid, because he and his family are taking their time with the process, correct?

Again, do some research and determine how many kids have de-committed in recent years...

This guy reminds me of Kris Humphries who went to Minnesota a few years ago. He played for one year at Minnesota and then went to the NBA. He seemed very self-centered during his recruiting. His time at Minnesota was pretty much the same. He was playing only for himself. MN may not of had much of team, but he was more concerned about his points that how the team was doing.

Let's find a team player.

Wow the kids 18ish years old and you are hung up that he won't make a decision on your timetable. Lots of kids struggle with that decision. You look at as we are a fall back. I look at it as he has/is looking at a lot of options - if he chooses ISU it is b/c he wants to be here.

He isn't the cable repairman who is late to fix your cable he is a young kid making the biggest decision of his life. Give him some space.

Well stated.

i dont see how it came from making his decision in a few days to not hearing anything for a few weeks and now he is visiting crieghton. thats fine i just wish he wouldnt have said that he wasnt taking any more visits first. i'm sure his parents had a lot of influence on this and want him to check all of his opportunities. creighton is great in academics and i'm sure they wanted him to check it out. i really would like to get him but the sky isn't falling without him.

it does suck that he hasn't committed to us yet. honestly, i would not be surprised if he choses Idaho. i know it hasnt been talked about much lately, but i have a teammate who is friends with Brackins and knows P'Allen, and in his talks with Craig, it sounds like P'Allen might, MIGHT, follow McFarland. Craig has been talking to P'Allen everyday to try and get him to commit to us. Also, Craig is excited to be a Cyclone. He cannot wait to get on campus and he has loved how he was treated when he went to the FB game and when he was on campus. I think someone like Craig can be our biggest recruiter with P'Allen and Negadu.
