Man, I really hope he gets cut by the Vikings. I say this because I think he can be either the best #2 QB in the league or a solid starter. I can't stand the Vikings and can't stand how they have handled the QB situation. To the naked, untrained eye it boggles the mind that they still think Jackson is better than Sage. #3 QBs aren't on the roster and the Vikings, if smart, should develop a younger QB.

Sage deserves much better than the situation in Minnesota.

Training camp speculation is that Sage is the leak for the story about Favre's distrust of Childress. If he is, sooner or later he will be exposed and his days as a Viking are all but over.

I was going to start this exact thread actually. Kinda weird to me, but I hope he doesnt get cut by the vikings, rather I hope he is #2 or #1. Do you see the way he throws against the 49ers?

Unless there is an injury to Favre, he won't be #1. I highly doubt he'll be #2 either with the lovefest for T-Jack.

And your NFL team of choice makes you nothing more then an objective opinion give too I am sure.....

I don't believe this one....but I know for a fact that Childress want TJ and did not want Sage in the first place. TJ is "his guy" and Sage is the GMs. Childress does not want him on the team. The Vikes could win with Sage, NOT with TJ.

I like Sage but with that said, he's been in the NFL for close to 10 years. He's had his chance and obviously not good enough to be a winning, starting QB. However, being a backup NFL QB for a decade is nothing to sneeze at.

It's really no secret about who's guy is who. It's also obvious that there is a leak on the team who chose to stir up a controversy. The link makes a pretty good case for Sage being the most likely source.
Some think Sage Rosenfels was Jason Cole's source | ProFootballTalk.com

Heck I wouldn't mind getting paid backup qb money and still walking when I'm retired unlike a lot of NFL veterans. It's not just the decent salary Sage makes but I'm sure he's still got a few years left in the league and the pension for a 15 year NFL player has to be pretty solid.

It's the competitive fire of wanting to play that makes these guys different from most everybody else. He's not satisfied with just making money and watching from the sidelines.
I have no delusions that Sage is one of the best in the NFL, but I think if he had the chance to work with a team in training camp through kickoff of the season as the bona fide starter, that he'd have a chance to be a pretty solid #1.

I love Sage, but he is no NFL starter. He's a solid #2. Nothing wrong with that.

it's a pretty damn good gig if you can get it. coupple million to sit on the sidelines and not get hurt... hell i'd take it. Though i'm sure Sage would rather be playing nothing wrong with being a solid number 2 guy

Even funner fact : I'm a huge Vikings and Cyclones fan and sage has played for both! na-na-na-na-boo-boo.

Even funner fact II: Dallas Clark was a huge Cyclone fan (used to see him at the Jack cheering on the Clones).

Probably cheering for his older brother, Derrick, who was a LB for ISU in the mid-90s.

Spot on.

Sage will not get cut, if anything he will be traded. If I was an insider on ESPN they actually have a link on the NFL front page this morning about where he might end up.
