Here's a point that should generate some discussion. How many of the Iowa State football players had their football careers (at least collegiate careers) ruined by Chizik during his two-year debacle as head coach? I can start with two easily:

Jason Harris
JJ Bass

Chizik was bad, bad news!!

Allen Bell and Marquis hamilton, the first two to come to mind and wasted a year of eligibility for several last season

Not defending him but wouldn't he put his "best players" on the field. I would think that he would put his best on the field. He is an ******* He would put the best players that he thought would have a chance to win on the field. But maybe he did hold personal grudges against some players, but we will never know.

He completely dog-housed JJ Bass.

Whether Robinson is better than Bass is debatable...

However Scales getting a ton playing time vs KSU over Bass really started to get me angry with Chiz. Scales had a fumble in the red zone and a dropped screen pass with miles of real estate and a blocker out ahead on a key 3rd down play.

Situations where we needed the more athletic and elusive guy in. Bass did get in for 1 stinking play that game...Scales caught a pass then immediately got destroyed by the defender and came off the field. Bass was in to pass block on the next play.

I was always a Chiz supporter, but became practically livid that game.

I think no one because they came back to play ball for ISU so all I care about is these players and the new staff. Gene who? he is gone people let it go and talk about the new staff and players.

Come now, you've seen on CF how well people have let go of mcarny................

Jason Harris was McCarney'd as much as Chizzed. McCarney benched him for his whole freshman year after he fumbled a couple times and then tried to switch him to defense the next year.

I am sorry blame the coaches all you want for ruining these college careers but most of the people you have mentioned, did something in there own career to hurt there college career, whether it was injury, fumble prone at the wrong time, or having attitude, you can't let your players run your team. The only ones I might agree with a little bit is JJ Bass (but is was injured a lot) and maybe Allen Bell (but time will tell if he was truly Chizz'd)
