my dad was assaulted with a hammer two nights before he was going to get shipped off for some training for Vietnam. he was discharged and still has a scar on his head and face where he bit through his lip from the shock.

he said looking back it was the best thing that happened to him that year because so many guys ended up damaged from the war.
