With each passing game royce has improved whether it be his scoring, rebounding, or just plain attitude. The fact that he is just barely scratching the surface on what he can all do. The guy might be the strongest player in college basketball, he has a very nice stroke on his shoot, and he is developing post moves. On top of that his defense is pretty alright also, although fouls are an issue. Maybe next year Lucious brings a little lob city to showcase Royce's hops?

You still have to remember that this is truely his first year playing real games in college. Hope he stays for a second year to work on his weaknesses. Next year could be special.

I think he loves it here way too much to leave after 1. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if he stuck around for all 3. Not only has he turned out to be such an amazing player right before our eyes, but he's turned into quite the ambassador for the university. "#cyclONEnation" is lucky to have him here. Can't wait to see what he can accomplish here.

(p.s. that reverse lay up was right in front of my seat. my jaw hurts from hitting the floor) :)

I think Royce will stay until he graduates. He is strong but lacks a perimeter game and we don't see him in transition much, so can we comment on his conditioning. I'm sure it's fine for power ball but the transition game at the show is a little different. Lots of upside. The longer he stays the better his draft #, the higher the draft # the better cash and first contract. It's all about the second contract in the show.

Thats why college players are leaving earlier and earlier. They want to be up for the 2nd contract when they still have a good 7 years left. If he stays until he graduates he will be 23 when he enters the draft. A 5 year first contract would leave him at 28 for a second contract. It would be hard to give him a 7 year contract leaving him at 35 when its all said and done.

If you read that espn article about his anxiety, he says something like he's never at 100% on gameday, he loses like 25% due to his anxiety.

Yeah it was a great article.

Did you see the quote he had where he dreamed about missing all his free throws yesterday? I was glad he didn't and maybe he could use his performance yesterday as fuel to believe in himself more as he hit 2 huge free throws late in the game.

There are a few "horror" stories (especially at ISU) of players leaving before they were ready. I think Fred will give Royce an honest assessment every year and whatever he does I am okay with. I truly want what is best for Royce and his family which may not be what is best for ISU basketball. I hope he stays for 2 more years, but we have some talent coming in and I have faith in Fred and the coaching staff to be successful here for years to come.

No way anyone can say if he stays or for how long. He has a family to think of as well. If we do well in the tournament, I can see him leaving early much as Fizer did. The plus side will be that we did well in the tourney. I would take an Elite 8 in a trade for him leaving, much as with Fizer.

Of course, I hope he stays for 3, though I think he'll play 2 at the most.

I think he has growing left to do, so I don't think we have to worry about him leaving after this year.

The kid is one hell of a player though. It seems like every game he makes 2-3 plays that make me jump out of my seat and go bananas.

One big thing I noticed on Saturday was that the crowd seemed to be much more encouraging while he was shooting FTs. During the OK State game when he missed one, there was a very obvious groan by the crowd. Against KU, you could hear a lot of fans clapping and saying things like, "Come on Royce, get this next one." I think many people read that article this week and kind of felt bad. I know I felt a little guilty.

I hope he can see that we all love watching him play, and more importantly, how he represents the University. I hope he can get as much out of being a Cyclone as we do from watching him.

I was one of the guys that was questioning Royce's hustle and heart earlier in the year and I feel as though at the time these ?s were reasonable. I certainly agree that he has progressed through the year and I am on board with Royce 100% especially knowing now the issues he deals with on a daily basis. I also feel that the gameplan yesterday was masterful and I sure hope they continue to make it a priority to get Royce touches in the post. He can be unstoppable down there! I know he has a lot more to offer than that and I think he can still contribute in those areas too. In transition and from the post he can make those beautiful passes! So excited to see this guy continue to improve! I think he has grown leaps in bounds in just 21 games!
