I noticed that on defense, Royce never appears to be "ready." He stands straight up and is easily caught of guard. This is obviously an easy fix for the coaching staff, but one that needs to happen for an NCAA tourney run.

Exactly. He avoids the ticky tack fouls you see called all the time by just staying straight up. We have 0 chance to win if he gets in foul trouble (cough cough Mizzouri)
I wouldn't worry too much about the D. If he weren't stuffing the stat lines in every other categories it would be an issue. The thing I think he can control and improve on immediately is learning to adapt to the refs and staying out of foul trouble early. If he could play 32 minutes a game instead of 25-28 it would help immensely.
