Yeah, except with basketball you don't need A, AA, and AAA. One well run level would likely be enough, otherwise it may dampen the college game.Always had a feeling that someone would try to get HS players to go semi-pro. I've been hoping for the NBA to implement a system that's similar to the MLB.
There is ZERO chance that it will work. There is no audience for this. Once any investors into this venture realize they will never see a dime of return on their investment it will fold.It seems like they want to make a D league that is more attractive to high school players. It may work. The salary is roughly the same as overseas, maybe a little less but more than D League, but the players can stay in the US where they are more comfortable. Collect some money while playing in Las Vegas and not have to worry about going to classes.
That is dependent on whether a TV contract can be secured, which is dependent on the talent they can get. If you can see the kind of players like Emmanuel Mudiay, Andrew Wiggins, Ben Simmons, Thon Maker and washouts like Royce White play in this, it will be successful. But if they can only get guys like David Harrison and the high schooler that was ranked in the 80s on rivals, it will fail. There is ZERO chance that it will work. There is no audience for this. Millionaire investors aren't going to keep flushing their investments down the toilet crossing their fingers and hoping. They didn't get to be millionaires doing that. That is dependent on whether a TV contract can be secured, which is dependent on the talent they can get. I never said that it will work. I should it could work. It's a tough thing to get started but once going it would have a chance to succeed. They have failed to land ANY of the Top high school prospects despite their claims otherwise. The clock is ticking.
