In general, I'm still formulating my thoughts on the Patch.com people and their posting habits.
Overall, it looks a whole lot like spam. In this case, they actually provide something, but they are clearly taking advantage of the free forum here to push their website.
If you want to push that aggressively here, Patch people, you really ought to be paying CW for that privilege. When 1/3-1/2 of the front page can be Patch content at any given time, it's way too much.
At the least, you should moderate your posting. Most likely, you should be paying for your advertising.

This is my problem too. CF relies on page views to drive a "free" website based on paid advertising and Google ads. Patch is using this website to divert page views to their website without paying for it. With the exception of the CCL stats, the stories have been retreads of old articles or stories. Additionally, the thread bumping throughout the day by their colleagues registering for new accounts is pathetic IMO.

I think that their support for CCL earns them the privilege to post often during the Summer. I'm not sure that I've seen the problem, but maybe I haven't been on CF enough during the day. CFers seem to appreciate the videos, photos, and stats from the CCL. Perhaps paying for CF ads is in their future and right now they are still operating as a start-up. I don't expect a full discussion of negotiations on CF. CW is probably having the right conversation in private.
