Does anyone headed to the race tomorrow know how traffic is being routed to the speedway tomorrow? I think last year they took us way out of the wat to get there, just curious if the same will be in effect tomorrow. Their website is awful and doesn't even show where parking is.

Last year they couldn't use a lot of the areas that they had planned on using as parking areas. According to track officials, they have fixed that problem and all lots will be open this year. They're saying its going to go a lot smoother this year. We're going to leave probably around 8am though, and hope that will give us enough time to park, get to the track, and get some food before the race activities start.

I think the main route is off I-80 exit 168. (the second newton exit, if you are coming from DM, or the first exit if you are comin from the east.) If you take the other exit, they re-route you all over. Hopefully traffic flows a lot smoother than last year... I think it will, it sounds like they have put a lot of time and money into making it more efficient with better flow.

Here's the map of the speedway which was found on their website.

The key is not trying to arrive 5 minutes before the race.

I was there a few hours early last year and could see traffic from where I tailgated. It was fine until all the late arrivals got there within an hour of the race. Go early, avoid traffic, have a few beers, and enjoy the race.
