I live in Minneapolis and listen to KFAN a local sports radio station up here a lot. A while back as I am sure has been discussed on this board, Tim Brewster said that he was the Cyclones top choice.

At first I laughed, then I was a bit upset, but how could I be too mad, WE GOT CHIZIK!!

Since Brewster I have heard nothing but Gopher Nation, we are going to a Rose Bowl, blah, blah, blah. The can talk a great game, I would put him up against anyone as a sheer blowhard, but I got sick of it.

I was obviously very happy to see him flat on his face after a successful 2 point conversion attempt by Bowling Green to win the game.

Sorry to rant, but I have been hearing this crap for months, I feel a small bit of satisfaction knowing they lost, still doesnt come close to making up for our play.

Go Cyclones!!

I was initially very attracted to the prospect of having him as coach cuz of his recruiting prowess, but now I can see a reason why it possibly didn't happen. We got the strong silent type, seems to be JP's type of guy

I've got it from a very good source that the ISU athletic department never even knew who Brewster was until the media brought him up. And they never even talked to him.

Also, if someone could get me an electronic copy of it, I would appreciate it. I tried to download it off of the Star Tribune's website but it wouldnt let me.

Sounds like the wallpaper of the week.

I, too, was rooting against Brewster. (Here in St. Paul) I thought it was funny that they got booed off the field at halftime. He is such a "Rah, Rah" type guy it is almost comical. A Gopher friend of mine thinks that is good, but Brewster had many people thinking the Rose Bowl would come NOW!

I'll stick with Chizik!

Feel free to use that rhyming motto on a T-shirt, just send me the royalties.

Losing to Bowling Green is a far worse loss than us losing to Kent State. Bowling Green was ranked like 109 out of 119 D1 teams going into the game with the Gophers. I will be rooting against Brewster for as long as he is there. It sounds like he has a giant ego.

Leads to the next question - we lost to Kent St, they lost to Bowling Green. Which DI school with the new head coach is going to have the better season?

The Cyclones...because...well...we are #1!! (Sorry, I actually watched parts of Soundoff the past couple weeks and the callers are rubbing off on me)

Minnesota will have the better season. They've got a good O-line and a good RB in Pinnix (sp) Mason left the cupboard pretty decently stocked (remember, he was only fired because they blew a 31-point lead to TT in the 4th quarter of the Insight.com Bowl)

I agree ColoradoClone, I think that at the end of the day the Gophers will have the better year because they have a bunch of patsies on the schedule, they cant lose to every bad team....can they?

At the end of the day, you need to have a guy who can coach on Saturday. For all of Brewsters strengths, and he does has some, I do not believe that he will be a good gameday coach.

He has:

Zero Head Coaching Experience
Zero Coordinator Experience
Zero Experience making a decision in crunch time.

Some of the same arguments could be made a Chizik, but I am a homer.
