Heading to Oklahoma to watch the Clones. Any suggestions on nice hotel near stadium and bars for best game day experience much appreciated. Assuming ISU football team stays in Oklahoma City which is an option too. Thx in advance.

The Oklahoma State Fair is going on and this is the last weekend so Hotel rooms might be tough to get in the center of OKC. You could stay in Mustang/Yukon far west OKC nice area and take the Turnpike "Highway 9" from the SW side it has the less traffic because coming in from the North on I-35 is hell on game day.

We went to Norman 2 years ago. BJs Brewhouse was great. Several TVs with games on, great food and beers as well.

We found a decent AirBNB right by Norman HS football field that was close enough

I went with 2 buddies in 2021 and we stayed in an airbnb in OKC close to downtown. Was a great stay and we did OKC Friday night, great time. 2 nights in Norman is no bueno, plus you have to deal with the insufferable Sooner fans. We went out for awhile in that campus town area near the stadium after the game and had to leave shortly due to their obnoxious fans. If the Clones don’t win you will hate it.

Norman is similar to Ames in that they have a bar/restaurant district next to campus and a main street stretch a few miles away. Except Norman is basically a boring suburb of OKC more than a college town.

For an all time great program I thought most of everything about Norman was boring/underwhelming.

Headed down as well and staying in the Bricktown area. We're planning to park at Lloyd Noble. Anybody with experience parking there have an idea of when to show up so we're not out of luck for a spot?

Stayed at Sooners Legends in 2017. Its not longer open, but its a sooners themed hotel with each room decked out for specific players or sports. After we won I was loaded and it was Karaoke night at the bar. They wouldn't let me sing the Iowa State fight song. You can also smoke in the bars in Norman so that was fun.

Right. I heard it mentioned during a game some years ago that OU has a beautiful campus. But I found it boring as hell. Totally flat and all the buildings look the same. Very uninspiring.

OU campus town (Campus Corners) is about 5 minute walk straight north of stadium. Swing by after the game as there is a lot going on. Campus is really beautiful and well laid out. Their Memorial Union and Sam Noble Museum are both interesting. The Union has the old game day covered wagon that has "Miami Sucks" scrawled on the bottom.

The Garage (local chain) is a good place to eat. Plenty of burger and beer selections.

Last time I went 2019, we stayed in OKC in the arts district. The drive to Norman is pretty easy and the tailgate area ISU folks had setup was easy to find.

Info about Baylor and OU tailgates put on my DFWCyclones.

We met up with the DFW group in Norman at the Lloyd Noble lots and they were extremely friendly and receptive even though we knew nobody. Definitely recommend anyone going should try to drop by if you can just to say hi and check out their merch. Im pretty sure thats how the fund themselves

Getting in was great, shuttle to the stadium if don’t want to walk piece of cake. Getting out was an absolute nightmare so maybe plan to hang out for a couple hours.
